Mao joined AMC in June 2016 as Senior Counsel with the Legal team. Prior to joining AMC, Mao was of counsel at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP in Beijing, representing venture capital and private equity investors in their investment transactions, as well as startups and emerging growth companies throughout their lifecycles. Prior to joining Gunderson, Mao was a partner at RHTLaw Taylor Wessing LLP and Withers KhattarWong LLP in Singapore, advising companies and investors in their cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and corporate partnering transactions, as well as issuers and sponsors in initial public offerings, reverse take-overs, tender offers and other capital markets transactions.

Mao holds a LL.B. from Renmin University of China, a LL.M. (Sheridan Fellow) from National University of Singapore, and a LL.M. (Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar) from Columbia Law School. He is qualified to practice in New York.

Prior to joining AMC in 2011, Mona was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP in London advising institutional and boutique sponsors of private equity investment funds in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America, including leveraged buyout funds, emerging markets funds, fund of funds and mezzanine funds.

Mona holds a BA in political science and history from Virginia Tech, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a JD from the University of Virginia.
